Emanuele Birritteri


Born in Agrigento, Italy, in 1992, Emanuele Birritteri is Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Criminal Law at the Department of Law and Economics of the University of Rome Unitelma Sapienza, and Adjunct Professor of European Criminal Law at Luiss University – Rome. At Luiss, he obtained his Ph.D. in Law and Business in 2021 and was also Post-Doc Researcher from 2022 to 2023. His main research interests and publications lie in the fields of food crimes, corporate criminal liability, fight against corruption and organised crime, general part of criminal law and jurisdiction. He has been Glasgow Law Fellow at the University of Glasgow School of Law (2024), Visiting Postgraduate Research Student at the University of Manchester (2020) and Visiting Ph.D. Student at the Norwegian School of Economics in Oslo (2019).
